The CAPF AC interview follows the written exam and medical stage, and it decides whether you walk in as an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP or SSB. The board is looking for a young officer who can stand in front of a company of jawans on day one. That means composure, physical readiness, ethical clarity and a settled reason for choosing a hard uniformed life.

The board is chaired by a UPSC member with subject experts and often a senior CAPF officer. Marks reward officer-like qualities: initiative, sense of responsibility, decisiveness, and the emotional stability to handle prolonged deployments in hostile terrain.
Because the medical is exacting, physical fitness questions are common: your training routine, injury history and how you would maintain fitness during administrative postings.
