Amazon's signature is working backwards: start from the customer problem and the press release, not the technology. A strong answer names the customer, quantifies the problem, and defends a prioritisation. A weak answer lists features with no framing of who benefits or how you would measure success.

For PMs, Customer Obsession, Ownership, Invent and Simplify, Have Backbone; Disagree and Commit, and Deliver Results appear most. Interviewers dig with follow-ups: "Why that decision?", "What would you do differently?", "What did the data say?"

Answer in STAR format and stay on your own actions. Prepare a story bank of eight or so situations covering launches, conflicts with stakeholders, decisions made with incomplete data, and a genuine failure. Balance the two muscles the loop tests:

• Practise product-sense and metrics prompts by speaking a clear structure: clarify, segment, prioritise, propose, measure.

• Run mock loops that alternate a product question and a behavioural question, because context-switching quickly is part of the real challenge.
